Configure Windows PPTP VPN client

Launch “Control Panel” from the start menu and choose “Set up a new connection or network”

Select “Connect to a workplace” and click “Next”

Select “Use my Internet connecting” (VPN)

Enter the IP address or URL of the VPN server and a description and tick “Don’t connect now”¬†and click “Next”

Type your username and password and click “Next”

Click “Close”

Return to “Network and Sharing Center” and choose “Change adapter settings” from the left.

Set the “Type of VPN” to “Point-to-Point (PPTP)” from the “Security” tab

From the “Networking” tab highlight the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click “Properties”

Click “Advanced”

Untick “Use default gateway on remote network” and click “OK” on all windows until applied.
